Nick Saban’s postgame press conference after 2014 Sugar Bowl loss to Oklahoma

No one in the SEC saw this one coming. Especially after Oklahoma Sooner’s coach Bob Stoops ran his mouth about how overrated the SEC was last year. Alabama rolled into New Orleans as a 17 point favorite over the Sooners but halfway through the first quarter the Crimson Tide realized they were in a dogfight.

Oklahoma freshman QB Trevor Knight threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns to lead Boomer Sooner over Bama in the Sugar Bowl. Alabama’s offensive line had no answer for Oklahoma’s defense as AJ McCarron was sacked 7 times and threw 2 interceptions. TJ Yeldon had a costly fumble late in the second quarter that wound up being a 14 point swing that sank the Tide before halftime.

Nick Saban was very humble in the postgame press conference and AJ McCarron took the blame for the loss with his bad performance. Alabama finishes the season with two straight losses for the first time since 2008.
