Coming into the game with the Vols last night Knoxville Jordan Matthews needed 4 catches to become the all time receptions leader in the Southeastern Conference. Former Commodore Earl Bennett broke the record in 2007 with 236 and has held it since. Matthews finished the game with 13 catches for 133 yards to take it away from him. Now with the record set at 246 you can look for senior receiver to pad it some with a game against Wake Forest and a bowl opponent before he is done.
Matthews spoke about the achievement and his relationship with Bennett in the postgame press conference;
